My peer profile primarily spotlights Maliha’s life and her journey in mastering the English language, highlighting her achievements as the top student in her high school class. It also delves into the challenges she faced and how her unwavering determination enabled her to conquer them. This peer profile is aimed at resonating with groups of individuals who have encountered similar language learning obstacles, as well as immigrants with significant family responsibilities and ambitious dreams.

This writing experience has been tremendously enriching, and I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to narrate someone else’s life, struggles, and accomplishments. Composing a profile about another person is, in many ways, more complex than writing about oneself, even if you have a deep familiarity with the individual. This process has introduced me to the concept of a ‘peer profile,’ which involves sharing someone else’s experiences through my perspective and ensuring that it reaches individuals who have faced challenges similar to Maliha’s.

The part of this process that had a significant impact on me was the interviews. I initially underestimated the intricacies of conducting interviews, as I assumed that formulating questions for someone else would be straightforward. However, I came to realize that the questions you ask must be tailored to the individual, and their answers cannot be found elsewhere. Nevertheless, conducting an interview with Maliha turned out to be an enjoyable and enlightening experience. It was a new and interactive experience for me, and it allowed me to gain profound insights into her life, experiences, struggles, and achievements.
